Pumpkin Patch - 10/28/07

We went to McMinnville to visit my parents for the weekend. Mom wanted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch near her house. The kids didn't want to go home when we were done. Grandma Cherry even got lost in the corn maze.

Park - 10/21/07

My goal this day was to get some pictures of the kids in the leaves, but the kids had another idea. You can tell by Justin's attitude that we didn't get very many

Safety Fair - 10/20/07

We took the kids to the safety fair at the mall. The boys needed to get their picture taken in the police car to show Aunt Juli.

Seahawks Girl

Daddy had surgery on Friday and was on the couch all weekend. Paige didn't like that daddy wasn't holding her. Daddy put her beside him and she worked the remote. I think Paige will be the one kid in the family to watch sports with daddy (at least he hopes one of them will).

Caught in the Act - 10/14/07

I thought this little girl was in the bedroom with the boys. I went to check on her and this is what I found. I am always getting in trouble for telling a story without the pics (Kyle writing all over house with permanent marker). Well here you go. I have to remind the boys to shut the bathroom door.

My Baby - 10/8/07

I just love these pics of our little girl. I noticed when I downloaded my pics that I didn't have very many of the boys. They don't like their pics taken. Mommy needs to make sure that she gets the good shots of all of them.

Saturday

I got to go clothes shopping today. Tom gave me about $50 dollars to go by some shirts. I came home with about 9 shirts, 1 sweatshirt and a pair of pants for my $50. I hit all the clearance and Columbus Day sales. I feel like I have hit the lottery. I haven't had much to wear since little girl was born.

Paige is standing up in the middle of the floor from a sitting position. She walks from one end of the house to the other.

Kyle is doing great in school. He started reading. I was really worried about the reading issue. He came home fron school reading a couple of his first readers to me. I think it has finally clicked for him. His teacher is the kind of teacher that doesn't punish the kids for something - she finds something that works for that particular child. I am going to be really bummed when we have to find a new teacher.

Justin is hanging out at home with me. He wants to do homework just like Kyle. He is learning his ABC's and can almost count to 20.

Tom is doing great at work. It is really great to see him enjoy every part of his job. You can tell just looking at him that he loves what he does. His office is telling us that the new office will be opened by the first of the year. We will see if this happens.

The McConkey Family

Here is our family photo we took the day of Tom's grandma's funeral. Grandma Alma was 92 years old. We all know that she lived a long and great life. Grandma - we miss and love you.
We thought it would be a great idea to get a family photo because we were all together at the same time. It is a miracle that every kid was looking at the camera. The last family photo we took was when Kennedy, Kyle and Ashley were just little. We have all had more kids since then. I am very lucky to have married into such a loving family.

Peek-a-boo

I was walking around the house looking for Paige. As you can see, she was hiding under Justin's paint easel. You never know where you will find her.

Helping Dad - 9/16/07

The boys love to help daddy no matter what he is doing. Daddy was working on the trailer but ended up on the roof. This only happens with daddy.

Camping - 9/8/07

We went camping for the last time this year. We had a total of eight kids with us. It is a good thing that we always had an adult with them. I can't believe they are all getting so big. The little girl in the middle in the pink and white was my little girl before I had kids. Sje went everywhere with me. The other kids are Brenden, Elizabeth, Dawn, Lorenzo and Rhianna.

First Steps - 9/6/07

It is official - Paige took her first steps today. This is not a great photo of her, but it is the only one I could get. In the next couple of days, I will try to download the video. Kyle, Justin and I saw the first steps. Then I had Kyle run the camera while I had her do it again. It is a happy and sad day all in one. I am really excited I got to see her first steps, but I am having a hard time because she is our last. 9 months old and trying to walk.

First Day of School - 9/5/07

I can't believe that Kyle is in the first grade. He was really excited to get the teacher we requested. He is in the same class as a few of his old classmates. He was sad because his best friend Tanner did not end up in his class. They still get to see each other at lunch and on recess.

Fort Stevens Fort - 9/2/07

We were lucky to get to see a reenactment of the civil war at the fort. We got to see all the soldiers dressed up in their war attire. The boys were fascinated with the cannons and all the guns. Scary!!!!

Astoria Beach - 9/1/07

We went to the beach this weekend camping at Fort Stevens State Park outside Astoria. We got lucky with the weather. It was sunny the whole weekend. I look at these pictures and think how lucky we are living in Oregon to have the mountains and the ocean a short drive away. You can see the ship wreck in the background of Kyle's picture. The ship wreck looked a lot bigger 23 years ago when I was last there. The picture of the boy in mid air is our my cousins son. The boys decided to jump off that cliff and land in the soft sand. The boys had sand in every part of their body when we left. We put Paige down to walk in the water. I had her stand still for the waves to hit her. You can tell she loved it.
